The porch I have now is elevated above the height that a flea can jump, and suitably screened.

A parson's table is one of those little round three legged things that is about big enough for a couple of drinks. I suspect some connection to country parsons having sherries with the choir mistress or the like. It will fit in a bath tub and hold approximately one cat.

Aah, sounds a lot more enviromentally friendly (although not very user friendly!)

"Back when my cats sunned on a porch..."
Do you now not have cats or not have a porch?

Also sound's like a great YouTube vid.

Err...parson's table???

Flea baths are what you make them. Back when my cats sunned on a porch where fleas could reach them; I never touch those chemical dips. I used a cedar oil soap formula that was industrial-chemical free. You make a lather in a mixing bowl, place a small parson's table in the bath tub, place a rubber bath mat on the parosn's table for traction, place the cat ont he mat, douse it in the cedar suds, lather over the mounting yowls, cope with the cat climbing you to sit on your head claws anchored in your hair, get under the shower spray to rinse the cat and yourself, towel the cedar soap out of your eyes and towel the screaming cat (if you can haul it out from under the basin) before shutting it in a room with an electric heater turned up full, to dry off. While it is drying you use a little flea comb to trap the bastards that are still hiding round the roots of the cat's whiskers. Eventually the cat will forgive you, about the time the slashes heal.

I've just Googled it.
Think it must be some horrible chemical stuff you dip puppy or kitten in.
Probably very effective.
But so is all that organophosphate shit they used to use for sheep.

I still love the Tolkien books (films are never as good).
Don't know about games, no time.
Not sure about 'love bath' either (sounds like fun though).
Flea bath????

There's absolutely nothing adolescent or naive about reading Tolkien; it's a feast for linguists. The people I worry about are the ones reading the droning Tolkien knock-offs that are still coming out, and inventing roleplaying-game wizard or warrior personas even though they wouldn't know Geoffrey of Monmouth from a tinker's fart.

Is a love bath anything like a flea bath?

It is indeed Nick Hornby, 'How to be good'.
I'm still reading Tolkien, but gave up 'von Daniken' shortly after falling off my first moped....
